Right now Vishnovsky is property of the Islanders, pending his grievance hearing
- Jsaquella

I heard on TSN that they expect the grievance to be heard quickly and he would get sent back to Anaheim. Trust me I'm not dying to get Visnovsky but thinking he could be useful as a puckmover here and maybe he'd accept a trade here

If one believes HockeyyInsiderr, Poile called Homer this morning as said give me the Schenn boys and 2 1sts or we will match.

It really seems Holmgren expected to end up getting Weber for the picks.

you know what butts said about that guy...something like "makes ek look like a Pulitzer prize winner"

I would have agreed to that as well. Seems that Holmgren wasn't budging from Read-Mesz-Gus/MAB and a 1st
- Jsaquella

That makes me sad. I just hope both Schenn's develop into something real special and Luke elevates his game from learning from Hatcher, Timonen, and maybe Pronger then and put meaning behind the quote "Sometimes the best investments are the investments you don't make"

I'd be interested in him, for sure. If he goes back to Anaheim and they can get him cheaply, as part of a Ryan deal or by himself, I'm game.

I think he'd be cheap and could be a good pairing with Luke Schenn.

Hell, all he cost the Isles was a 2nd rounder. Homer paid more for Kubina

I like Matt Read a lot, but I'm not sure his trade value will be any higher then right now. They've shown no interest in Semin to this point. However, I could wake up in the morning and see that he just signed a multi-year deal with the Flyers. Ryan at 3 yrs and $5.1 million for a 30 goal scorer is pretty good value. If they can keep Voracek and add Ryan somehow, I have no complaints.
- ravishingone

If it only took MAB, Read, and 1st for Ryan, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. I think it would require more from the Flyers to get Ryan

Certainly possible, considering the draft next year is supposed to be very deep and Read can play center, it isn't like the deal is crap. Also, I think MAB can develop into a solid #4 or #5 d-man, if you give him time to develop. He is only 22, I think he hasn't reached his ceiling.

Yea i like Read and MAB, just on this team I think Ryan fits more a need than Read who could be 3rd line and MAB a 3rd pairing d-man who may not dress every game.

I think they have to do something with MAB. He is not waiver exempt, it does him no good to sit in the press box as the 7th d-man at his age. I think he is a bargaining chip, unless Gervais slides to the 7th spot. Gervais does have a slight advantage with experience and being a right handed shot. Ryan and G should do very well together considering Ryan has the skating speed to keep up with G. I thought at times Jagr just couldn't keep up on the rush.

So I've been back reading the discussion in here and about 7 of you should start rooting for another team. Sorry Nashville decided to match. The doom and gloom is too much for me. No player is perfect, even Weber, they're human (frank)ing beings.

Yea, I wouldn't mind if MAB and Gus were traded for Ryan because they still have Timonen-Schenn-Coburn-Grossmann-Meszaros-GErvais. I think the Manning kid is fine for 6th call up duty and Lilja. They can still sign a Colaicovo if they wanted or try and trade for Visnovsky when the grievance is granted.

They need another top 6 forward

I am disappointed they didn't get Weber but still excited about where this team is headed. I would have been ok with a package of Schenn brothers and 2 firsts for Weber but I'm excited to have them to watch this year.

I still think the Flyers will add a few more pieces in trade or FA but the young core of Giroux, Schenn, Voracek, Simmonds, Couturier, Luke Schenn, Wellwood, maybe Read if he isn't traded will be a very good group of players

We get to watch B Schenn vs Crosby for years to come, I mean until Crosby's career ends.

Exactly, and some flyers ” fans” want to act like the team is as inept as the Isles or blue jackets. I guarantee if there's a season the flyers make the playoffs and if they're healthy they're a threat to win it all

Do not understand the fascination with JayBo. He brings absolutely nothing we do not already have, other than a massively overpriced cap hit. Meszaros is better at almost every facet of the game than JayBo is right now. And if he's not better in a particular area, he's damn close, and we already have him. Moving him to acquire a guy who costs more, is older, and can't do anything better than he can doesn't make much sense to me.

Age:
Meszaros: 26
JayBo: 28

Cap Hit:
Meszaros: $4M
JayBo: $6.68M

Points & GP:
Meszaros: 7G, 18A in 62 games
JayBo: 5G, 24A in 82 games

+/-
Meszaros: +6
JayBo: -21

Number of people that have called them soft and easy to play against:
Meszaros: Nobody
JayBo: Everybody

I'm curious if Visnovsky get's shipped back to Anaheim because of the no-trade clause complaint, that he might be availble via trade from either Anaheim or the Isles. He is not Weber but he does have some serious offensive upside.

More it sounds like Visnovsky will be back in Ana... trade to NYI will be voided...

To Philly: Ryan, Visnovsky
To Anaheim: Voracek, Read, Bourdon, 2 1sts

Fair?

I wouldn't do that. Way too much.

Vishnovsky was traded for a 2nd rounder, and I wouldn't trade Voracek and Read for Ryan
