I'd only want to give up assets for d at this point, so semin at the right term/$$ might be worth it instead of pissing away an ELC like read and a dman we can't spare for Ryan. - isaiah520
Agreed, I can't see them giving up any of the top 5 in a Ryan trade. At this point, might be time to see if a MAB, Gus, or Manning can improve and eat up some decent minutes and review the blueline at the trade deadline. I really don't have a problem with Semin, at this point the money and term can't be that bad because it is so late in free agency. I think he would do very well with G.
I think Lava is very high on MAB. He started game 1 against the Pens, and played 16 minutes/game during the regular season. I think he trusts him. |

My thing about this Ryan stuff right now is, we can get him in a couple years for nothing if he's needed so damn bad. Let's find out what we got in the stable and if it really is that neccessary to add another forward Semin and doan are still out there. For Goodness sake we were about to throw almost 8 mill at Weber we can afford one of those two guys for 4-5 mill a year for three years. |

Agreed, I think he wants to stay in the NHL. This guy is treated like a cancer, his career +/- is on the favorable side. His best years came under the Boudreau's system, which was a two man forecheck. I think he would do well in Lava's system. - ravishingone
U know that about 30% of his criticism is from his name alone |

Does the Nash trade at all affect the asking price for Ryan? - iroc4me2
Of course, which is a good thing.
He might not have a NTC, but Ryan wants out and he's made that crystal clear.
I'd offer Read, MAB/Gus, and a 1st. No more.
If not, oh well. Move on and make moves at the deadline then. I fully expect us to be major players for Enstrom come deadline time. He's the ideal Kimmo replacement, I've always said this. No, he doesn't have #44's defensive acumen yet, but he is the perfect guy to run and QB the PP. I'm sure his defensive game will develop as well in later years. |

Obviously it depends on the price. Eskin went on record saying I'd cost Read, Gus, and a high pick. |

I would wait and see if Ryan definitely wants out. He made an emotional response to learning he was being discussed in trades. Haven't heard a lot about it since.

I just got done painting the walls in my house in a color that starts with F and ends rhyming with luck, only so much of bastardizing creation's greatest gift to man I can do in one day. |

He grew up in Cherry hill with Bob Clarke as his Godfather. You don't think he wants bad as hell to play here? |

I think semin is the way to go cause doan's gonna get ~6 MM for 3 or 4 yrs which is ridiculous. |

I really hope the empire doesn't feel the need to appease the mob right now, thus overpaying and welcoming disaster into our midst. |

I'm sure he would love to play for the Flyers. But I think the weight that that is given is far overblown.

Please, please no Semin. If we must, no more than a 1 year deal. He will light it up during the regular season and disappear against tougher opponents and during playoffs. He will take away time from the younger players. I would much rather we miss the playoffs and get a good pick. |

yea they might not be the best team in the conference but they're a far cry from the 9th seed, that's for sure. |

The guy has a flyers symbol tattoo on his butt cheek. But it has been proven that a player cant dictate where he plays. |

We need a winger though. I'm not sure Semin really will take too much ice time away from the Schenn's and Couturier's. If Briere is moved to wing, those two will get their ice time |
