still think the dominoes from the JVR move limited homer to some degree. maybe the fall back for the OS match would have been more favorable...hated that move for value reasons as well.
- isaiah520

I think Luke Schenn is going to be just fine. That trade isn't as bad as people think. Schenn is going to be a good player here.

Ahhh, that's his thing... Today was disappointing. If you need sunshine and light today wasn't the day to come here.

If he wouldn't trade them for Weber, he shouldn't even consider them for Ryan
- Jsaquella

well all we know is that he wouldn't trade BOTH for weber

however, i hope to god (and honestly believe) that you are correct

Yeah. Mattaa and Thrower were there for the taking. That started this fruitless summer.

Dude, at least be happy that the Flyers didn't draft a defenseman. Talk about flushing a pick down the drain.

When I watched the leafs last year....he stood out to me as their worst player. I can't get over that.

I wouldn't be amazed at a move for Ryan, but if Holmgren was only willing to offer Read & Mesz for Weber....

On the Tennesean's front page, Weber signing is banner news. In spite of that, the story is only the 3rd most popular.

# 2: Soggy July uncovers surprise underfoot — a 50-foot sinkhole

Oh Shea. You got the money but I bet you are shedding a tear for what might have been.

Cliff Lee has only given up 4 homers tonight, including one to the friggin pitcher. 1 win in his last 20 starts. Absolutely ridiculous.

Hey Cliff.... (frank) off

We don't need to be gutting our defense for weber... The best thing homer could do is try to for enstrom... Ryan can wait another three years... We need to keep mez at this point

He was trying to lower his trade value to come to the flyers

can they really do that. So how screwed will they be if there is a complete lockout next year & they have to pay Weber what is it $26MM.
- LJF

No they cannot really do that. The Offer Sheet is binding and Weber is a Predator for at least one year.

I'm not looking at this from the Nashville prospective, Flyers were close to landing a defenseman who in all likelihood would have become the best in franchise history and came away empty. Anyone who isn't extremely disappointed by this isn't being truthful.
- PLindbergh31

But you know what, I've moved past it and I'm over it. Time to look towards the future.

Nash cost next to nothing, maybe Yandle could be had reasonably.

Nash also forced himself out and then his GM told everyone. Yandle isnt pushing to be traded.

Honestly we have no pieces to trade...we need every one of them. Holmer struck out this summer, but not for lack of trying.

wouldn't you rather have that asset available if the flyers wanted the flexibility going forward to do better than L schenn? could having JVR given the flyers more flexibility in weber negotiations? we'll never know, but my gut says yes. JVR as an asset was worth more than L schenn and I only bring this dead horse up because we still need a dman and I'd rather have quality than quantity if I had to choose.
