Now that is definitely true. In hindsight they are probably wishing that they agreed to that deal, if it was truly offered. But I believe that Poile has been hamstrung by management in not wanting to give out up front money.

I agree. I think if the money in the offer sheet was spread out more this would be a lot easier decision for Nashville but the fact theres so much guaranteed money in the first year and by year six its just not a smart business decision. Signing Weber would cripple what they can do. Will see what they decide.

I'm the opposite. When it was announced, I felt strongly that Nashville would match. I now feel that Weber will be a Flyer.

Gut feeling is they don't match and call the Flyers to trade some picks back. Homer offers exact deal prior of Read and Mez or nothing at all.

I was told this morning that Poile still isn't backing off Couts + Schenn.

Homer hasn't upped his original offer yet either.

Obviously this isn't really news worthy, but both will have to concede some to get a deal done by tomorrow if that were to occur.

I think it's 60-40 he ends up here. I'm at the point where I will be disappointed if he doesn't.

And your not going to tell us how you know this? I think there really is only one side that is going to have to concede.

I have it 80-20 for Flyers. I really think Nashville can't afford to sign Weber. The money would cripple the franchise. Homer has them by the stones and he knows it.

Well, you're right about the latter. But I think Homer will need to offer up a bit more too, no?

I wouldn't give those guys up. Let Nashville match and move on. I would then look to making a trade to get Edler or Enstrom if they are looking to upgrade on the blueline.

I thought that the final offer that Holmgren made would be a little stronger then it was. And I've changed my stance of not moving off of that, because I now know what that offer was from a credible source. I would increase the offer to remove Read and add Voracek.

My guess, several Nashville owner sell their interest to the new Canadian Oil money that now owns 12% of the team. The new money adds real muscle to the Nashville capitalization. Poile phones Holmgren and says he would like to do a deal.

Yea, that all of one defenseman that is on an EL deal is really going to bring them down

- MJL

Let me see...del zotto, stralman this year

stepan, hagelin, halpern , mcdonaugh, sauer next year....

is it me or do i count more than one....now go play with light saber.

Not much of a plan when you don't know those players are available. Vancouver trading Edler? No chance

Owners will sell their interest to keep ONE player?

I just don't buy that, man.

There has been reports about Enstrom (from Bill himself) and some reports that Vancouver was not happy with the play of Edler during the second half of the season. I dont know if hes available but he is an UFA after next year. Doesn't hurt to make a call (neither of us know who Homer has called).

Ryan McDonagh is the only defenseman on a EL contract. Stralman and Del Zotto are now off them. Stepan and Hagelin are forwards

Just take it with a grain of salt.

Not going to defend what I've posted in the past though.
