Like I said it would be tight, but if the Flyers waive Shelly, Walker, Sign V to 3.250, and play schenn 1 game in the minors while LTIR Pronger, They would be about 1 million under the cap. - RooNosHockey
Calgary like everyone else will want 10 or 14. Why do we need jbo we have Mezzy. Same player. Take mezzy every time. I like iginla but not at his cap.
It's cool. No worries. My apologies for suggesting your opinion wasn't valid. That was out of line. - PLindbergh31
no problem. like i said, i wasnt trying to attack you specifically. honestly, ive just about had all i can take of the whole i could care less about a team when they are down but when they are winners im the biggest fan. obviously you do care, seeing as how youre on a hockey board in july haha.
chances like these dont come around very often should have offered one of the two plus spare parts.i have seen lots of players have great 1st seasons then never play as well ever again.if schenn was offered in the richards trade then he is easily traded for weber.well at least we have the 4 1st round picks so if we suck this year the picks will be good.the season might be a bad one,mez back issues, kimmo back issues and old, grossman knee and concussion issues, schenn slow and turns over pucks issues, and a goalie who is lost in space.future looks bright though.

Not to mention that the trade proposal he offered is pure fantasy.

Yea, they're sure to attract all the free agents now. Nashville has shown it can play with the big boys... letting other teams negotiate their contracts

If the money was there all along and Weber was indeed the face of the franchise, knowing the history of the last few years, how the hell does Poile still have a job? If I were part owner, not sure sure what I'd do first - punch Poile in the mouth or fire him.
After Weber gets a cool 40 million the next 2 years and is totally fed up with perpetual rebuilds, he'll demand a trade to a short list of teams like Rick Nash. No way in hell he stays in Nashville very long, irregardless of the contract he signs. Sad to say, chances he lands in Philly will be slim to none.

Because maybe Poile wasn't the one keeping them from signing Weber previously.

Hartnell, pound for pound, may be the worst fighter in the league. However, when he fights:
1) it is always face to face
2) punches are never of the donkey punch variety
99% of the league adheres to such rules. One player, with phonetically a girl's name, does not.
Because of this fact, I can't debate a wester PA hockey fan. - Daman
like i said, crosby is far from a saint. and there is much more to hartnell then whenever he would actually fight someone man to man. the majority of his dirtiness takes place during pile ups or scrums, in which he never feels the need to refrain from jumping on and say, biting someone if he is in the mood. i would never suggest that the pens are a particularly clean team. even cooke, who really cleaned up this past year to the point of being a vagina, would never even have been allowed to lace them up again if it was up to me. but yet to not see many of the same qualities on flyers players is a little bit of a stretch

I don't make premature predictions on whether a player is a good player or not, before he even plays a game. Especially based on what a media member says. I let the player actually play and see him play before making that analysis. Nor am I prepared to say that right now the Flyers can't contend. - MJL
plays an NHL game or plays for my team w/ exp? lilja clearly was inadequate as a full time #6 dman if that's what you're referring to. guess we can dig up the corpses of vandermeer, randy jones and proposed Jeff carter trades.
and I wouldn't want to go out on a limb if I was afraid that I couldn't handle it. I don't mind staking out a position and I'll own up to being wrong.
