the routine got old years ago bro
probably around the time you spent all of 2010 calling the team 'gutless pukes' and then hopped right back on the bandwagon when they went to the finals - Crimsoninja

When does the decades of not winning a Cup get old "bro"? 2050, 2055, 2060? - PLindbergh31
then bail, honestly
if its such a hardship for you to root for this team it seems bizarre that you continue to do so.
but i guess you'd rather just sit back and rip basically every move for years on end and then backtrack and call them "jokes" when people express how hypocritical you come across |

There were days of discussion on the Weber deal. I don't know anyone who was right about everything. I thought in the beginning they were going to match. But in the last few days I truly thought the Flyers were getting Weber. And I thought a trade was definitely going to be made. I was wrong about that. Along with everyone else. - MJL
I'll step up and eat the "crow" b/c I had it 80/20 for the Flyers. I said to call their bluff and the Flyers did it and Weber isnt here. Life moves on and the Flyers need to continue to get better. Takes a TEAM to win a cup. |

If poile asked for the schenns and 2 firsts and Homer said no, I cant be mad at that.....nice try, move on. - aosplayo
Some suggested the Schenns, mesz and 2 1s which wouldve ruined this team. |

All jokes aside, this could have had a worse ending. Had Holmgren traded Schenn and Couturier in a package for Weber, it wouldn't have been good.
Disappointing day, not the end of the world.
I love how everyone takes jokes so seriously. - PLindbergh31

Absolutely not but I feel that is the exact trade they are looking at. Please no - Deasr1
you wouldn't trade a mid 6 forward, a 7th Dman, and a second round pick for Iginla AND Bouwmeester????
am i reading that correct? |

Homer's balls have deflated a bit, but rest assured, they will be back and they will be bigger than ever. And if I were the rest of the league, I'd be afraid of turning around and seeing a big Homer ball coming right at me. It could happen at any time. |

What makes you think they can't do that? - MJL
I was just talking about this with my brother. I think the Rangers are twice the team the Flyers are as currently constructed ON PAPER. Doesn't necessarily mean anything. The Rangers D is scary, especially if they get Sauer back:
Timonen Mezzy Girardi McDonough
Coburn Grossman MDZ Staal
Gervais Schenn Sauer Stralman
Their goaltending is no contest and now their forward lines are every bit as talented
Hartnell G ??? (Jake) Nash Richards Gaborik
Simmonds Briere Schenn Kreider Stepan Callahan
Fedotenko Coots Read Hagelin Boyle Pyatt
Wellwood Talbot Rinaldo Asham Halpern Rupp
The offseason isn't over by any means, but right now.... in every facet on paper the Rangers are a much better hockey team. |

Yea, the guy is going to sign a contract giving him $110M and he's going to get a 13M dollar check very soon. And you think he's frustrated? Seriously.
Make no mistake about it. Weber's primary goal was to get the deal he got. - MJL
Like I said in my orginal post. The money is still green but that doesn't cure the ache in his stomach to be on a competitive team. |

hate to defend the flyers, but seriously people with this mindset piss me off. the flyers just havent won. sometimes it works out that way. its not as if the organization has just drained it dry. they have passionate ownership that has invested tons of money into the organization, sometimes even to a fault. the teams ploy to poach a player didnt work, so now all of a sudden every move they make is crap? this time last year they were literally robbing the kings and blue jackets of premium young talent. but now its just trendy to say oh what a bunch of failures in the front office, but im sure god forbid they won people of this opinion will be right there sharing in the glory.... |

NTC/NMC could b added 2 Weber's deal. But, WHY!! would the Predators include it. They don't have 2. Teams only include that when they have 2.
Am I missing something here? |

People see a shiny new toy and get distracted and must have it. We have some great young talent on this team that took it to some of the best players in the world on the Pens, and people are getting upset.
I would've been more upset if I had to watch Couturier or Schenn develop elsewhere. And if Weber didn't win us a cup, people would complain about him. |

Had this opinion been put forth by a Blues fan, or Caps fan it might have some merit. A Penguins fan, not so much. |

You might be being sarcastic... Without the sarcasm emoticon I cant be sure, but that is exactly what I am thinking. The cap would be tight, but it could be managed...

Fedotenko-Couturier-Simmonds

Again, are we going to make assumptions before the Season starts? Last year it was certain players stink. Let's let the Goalie, who although he had overall a sub par year, did show how good he can be, play the games. And is a proven Goalie in the League. And the Flyers have a solid defense core. One of the better ones in the League. I don't know how many times one has to be burnt by premature predictions.
