i don't think it was a pipe dream. i'm simply saying that holmger himself is unhappy with getting 3 stiff arms in a row, not that he's unhappy with the team or that the d isn't solid. - hammarby31
I'm saying the act of acquiring Weber through an OS was a pipe-dream because an OS has only worked once since the lockout, and this OS was centered around the best defenseman in the NHL. The odds of it working out? Slim to none. |

Holy backtracking batman.
This was a kick to the nuts. But we all should have known that Nashville could have matched the offer, and without enough return, would do so.
Locking up Weber would have been awesome. But this is Philadelphia. We are used to disappointments. We excel at it. Now we can move forward as the second or third best team in the Eastern Conference.

I expect all the posters that said Philadelphia has all the power to come clean.
Next target - Ryan.
WTF has Da Man been telling you all along?

I think I'm the only one who from day one said he would not be a flyer |

Thanks! He's here for about 3 weeks so we have a lot of time to cover... - funmaster18
I would highly recommend the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. Its not a far ride and there is a ton you can do down there.
Other things I'd suggest (some outside Philly)
Hershey Park
Reading Terminal Market
Frankford Hall (a german themed bar, traditional german beer and food)
Archaeology and Anthropology Museum
Cow Town
Blue Rocks game
Take a drive to DC

I dont want to over pay for ryan and or overpay for Doan. I was fine with the team before weber and im fine with the team still - flyers4487
I think it's a given that the Flyers will now move on to their next target. |

"- Would a decision not to match the offer sheet send a negative message to current Predators players and other NHL organizations, a message that the Predators would only go so far to protect its best players and be pushed around by teams with "deep pockets?"
From the official predators statement....
Congrats you got weber, now go ice a team around him.
Your welcome western conference teams

too soon....let us mourn.
our defense is ok....but not where it needs to be. Flyers are 0-3 this offseason. |

Re-sign Voracek and go to camp with this team. Ryan will cost too much. |
|
|
|
Stay put unless you can improve the 3rd or 4th line. $8 million to play with at the deadline. |

That's what scares, to make a move for the sake of making a move. I'm perfectly content with this team going into the year, don't get me wrong, having Weber would have been huge but he was never ours to begin with. Resign Jake and MAB and lets move on. |
