I'd like to get 2 of them back personally.. especially for the year we have the draft here.. So 2 firsts..Jake, Mesz Gus .. Cousins and a second (cause Homer hates them..) - Hextall271
I'd do that....I'd do almost any trade where we can keep Schenn and Coots. |

not like rangers play this raucous, offensive system, either. we'll see.
curious to see how rangers make up for the defense they've lost at forward, though. dubinsky and anisimov did a lot of heavy lifting for them. - OrangeBlack27
Teams that play very good defensively, create a lot of offensive chances. They just lacked finishers. In my opinion the Rangers need to change their mix and add more offense. Tilted too much to one side. |

I think Nashville is very happy with the Schenn Bros, they get a young center they desperately need and a top 4 physical young Dman to join their young promising defense plus 2 firsts. - vejim
Sure they would be. But they aren't getting both if it was up to me. |

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Phillies have indicated to teams that they are eager to move Hunter Pence. Rosenthal speculates that Pence could have more value now that Carlos Quentin and Edwin Encarnacion have signed extensions with their respective teams and are off the market. Pence, 29, is earning $10.4 million this season while batting .268/.336/.453 with 17 home runs, 57 RBI and a .789 OPS through 96 games. He's arbitration-eligible for the final time this winter.

Couturier, Schenn, Schenn, Mez, and a 1st. Not sure Nashville would accept though. - stveshdy
Does that get you 2 or 3 of the firsts back? |

I was at the game last night, he was terrible, totally misplayed the ball in the 1st inning which led to 2 runs, and shows no plate discipline at all at the plate.

He has horrible plate discipline.
The ball over his head? Don't think he could've caught that even if he played it right... |

Even if he had broke right on that ball, still would have been a very tough catch. And he had a good at bat in the 9th where he worked a walk that contributed. And he also leads the National League in go ahead RBI's. The problem is that he is not Ryan Howard. But he was asked to carry the team as the big bat without him. That's not Pence.

Possibly, I never saw a replay of the hit, but did you see the route he took to the ball, he turned into a pretzel he twisted so much out there. I guess it gets me more PO cause this isn't his first hiccup out in the field, this has been a problem all year for him. |

It was a good trade for the Astros, below-average trade for the Phils. They put all their eggs in one basket and thought they would contend for the WS last year, hence the overpayment.
If we win the WS, it was one of those "great trades" that a GM puts in place right before a playoff run to put them over the hump. Since we didn't win, it gets put under a microscope and called into question.
Overall, I would do the trade again, because I don't expect to lose to the Cards in 5. That's life. |

This. And you don't expect Lee to blow a 4-0 lead in Game 2, for me that was the series. I think there was a stat out there that Lee hadn't blown a 4 run lead in 2+ years, but I could be wrong. Nevertheless he shouldn't have blown that game. |

So an NHL exec told J Shannon Preds match. Another told D Dreger they won't. My take: neither one actually knows.
