Might not get Weber, but NYR and Pitt are not getting him either. Didn't cost the Flyers anything but time to block a trade to an EC team, at worst. At best we get Weber... So EITHER way, mission accomplished.

that's a good way to look at it.....but we still need to get stronger on the defensive side.

i don't know the exact valuations off the top of my head, but he'd have to score close to 50 goals to be worth 7.8. i also don't think 28-33 is a scorer's prime. in fact, i think that's beyond the vast majority of scorer's primes. obviously there are outliers and perhaps nash will be one, but even though he didn't play on a great team ever, his numbers, to me, don't suggest that he'll be scoring 40 goals for the next six years. or maybe at all.
- OrangeBlack27

I'm not sure where your getting that formula from for him to be worth 7.8M. That's arbitrary to me. A player is absolutely in his prime in his mid to late 20's. He's scored at the 30 goal range playing on Columbus the last 3 Seasons. Who has he had to play with. He's going to be playing in a much better team, sorrounded by much better talent. It's not at all a stretch to see Nash scoring around the 40 goal mark. Heck he's had 38 and 40 goal seasons in Columbus

so you're gonna break the Schenn brothers up before they even play a game? they are both gonna be so much better playing on the same team.

This is the post I replied about and was referring to. Regardless, I'm free to reply and discuss any post made, regardless of how long ago it was made.

You're not the brightest bulb in the box, are you?

Anyone with half a brain would have realized the moment Sather said "We kicked the hell out you twice in the Stanley Cup", he spoke truly.

Both the '85 Oilers and their '87 counterparts did, in fact, kick the the hell out of 'you' in the Finals. []

the 50 goals being worth 7.8 mil was arbitrary. all i know is that what he's done the last few seasons is absolutely not worth 7.8 mil when you consider the likes of moulson, ryder, fleischmann, desharnais, and erat all give you similar production.

still a fair trade, the flyers still have Giroux, Briere, Coots and Laughton and in L Schenn, you cant miss what you never had.

But that's not the point. The point is what production will they give you playing with better players on the Rangers. What production will those players give you in big games.

Are you saying that all those players are as good as Nash?

it's like a game of chicken.....it really is. I think it's going to come down to last minute. and Nashville will match and be screwed losing money.
