Satan and Visnovsky are from the same small town in Slovakia and are only 2 years apart in age. Clearly know each other very well. Signing Satan could be Garth's way of getting Lubo to stay.

It's pretty sad if we need to sign Satan to get Lubo to stay. Philly signs Weber and we sign an AHL guy like Backman then this nonsense.

I would not expect anything else with the Islanders. Garth finally makes a trade and is so excited to just see it fall flat on his face. I guess he will not make another trade now for another 15 years. Oh well Garth you tried to be a big boy and it did not work.

I for one hopes he goes back to the Ducks and the Islanders will get compensated for it. Who knows could be the best thing for them at this point.

As for Satan I would welcome him back he actualyl played decently with the Islanders and if he can still score about 20 goals well then that is good enough for me.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday

Visnovsky had NTC on deal with EDM and did not invoke when dealt to Ducks in '10. He may be too late to invoke now. Arbitrator will decide.

48m Arthur Staple Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday

#Ducks will oppose in arbitration, no date set. If Visnovsky wins, he's Ducks property again: if ANA wins, trade to #Isles stands.

49m Arthur Staple Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday

Lubomir Visnovsky has filed a grievance through the NHLPA to void his trade to #Isles, claiming his no-trade clause is still valid.

If the trade is voided, then I hope the penalty for the Ducks is their second round pick to the Isles.

Then Vis can go and play in Europe.

There is not alot of options out there for trading on "D"

I guess JBo is always an option... or just give the spot to de Haan.

It's hard to translate the article... but this may just be the agent just trying to prove a point.

If the Ducks didn't approach him with the trade first, and it did stipulate the 10 team s he can go to... I would be kinda pissed too.

Bouwmeester has an actual no trade clause, no grievance needed to not come here.

Oh for the love of god this is ridiculous. There was no reason on earth to believe something this ludicrous would happen. If you're walking down the street and a tree falls on you, nobody is going to blame you for not checking the condition of the trees lining the street.

Chief a GM has to know the sitation of a player he is trading for. If Lubo does not have a no trade clause involving the Isles then Garth is not at fault. The Isles do not need anymore issues like this.

I woud argue the other way around. Being property of Anaheim, they should have been well aware of their players contract rights. If this trade goes void, they should be in penalty

WELL actually yes they can. If its in front of your house. Even off your main property. It's neglect. Owner and the Town are responsible and can cost an arm and a leg in court.

But I know what your saying. This was the Ducks responsibility and Vis to invoke the NTC. Not Snow.

No question the Ducks need to be aware. Still this seems to happen to the Isles too much.

There is no "if". He didn't have a no trade clause. If he did there would be no reason to file a grievance to try and get the trade voided, because the trade never would have happened in the first place. NTC's disappear once you waive them.

His agent will try and present some ridiculously worded case to get the trade voided, but in the end he'll lose.

Question: If the Isles did more immediately after the Vis trade than make a couple of minor bottom-six/bottom pair signings and then hang back and not directly dispute rumors that they're essentially done for the offseason, does he still file this grievance? I'd say he probably does anyway, but maybe not if they made a splash with a big trade or signing.

Agreed and I share the frustration but in this case. Lets assume Snow was aware of the limited NTC and inquired about Vis anyway. Ducks make the trade. Viz beefs a bit but declares he will reluctantly report to LI. That deal gets done.

Now a month later he reneges

Ducks should have asked Viz if he would accept the trade.

Viz should have contacted his agent and found out what his options were. This all falls on what went on in the offices of Anaheim between management and Viz. We will find out if anything shady was done but in the mean time.

Snow is the victim. Man how I hate to say that!!!!

Hopefully we get some compensation out of this. Because if Viz does have a NTC that is valid. He's gonna win IMO.

No matter what this will be another black eye on the Islanders even if Garth is not at fault. It's another vet not wanting to play for the Isles.
