I think people sometimes have trouble with the fact that trades often work for both teams, and can take time to even out. - S Kaspar Rollins
haha well not everybody - pretty sure Colombus isn't thrilled LA won a cup & Philly loaded up on young players including Coots falling to their pick. |

Oh yeah Columbus is the definite loser of those teams (especially if Carter failing there might have helped cause Nash to ask out.) I was more referring to the Richards trade. |

The Nash scenario is downright comical at this point. Rangers are going to get him in September for like half the price they offered in February. - S Kaspar Rollins

I hope your right as I really don't wanna give up Stepan. Dubinsky, Anisimov maybe but noone good if we don't have too. See what happens in the end I guess

I'm by no means a bryzgalov fan, but there's no way he's really as bad as he was last yr. he may be goofy with the universe talk, but you dont become a pro athlete without having some pride. I don't expect a vezina, but I have no doubt he will have a much better year. With weber on board if Nashville lets him go, and just adequate goaltending they will be fine. And then the haters will need to find something new. |

His problem, that I've discovered, is he can't handle the pressure of playing for a team like Philly...He's one of those small market team players...He'll never be good in Philly... |

Well Stepan and Kreider can't be part of the deal
As for who to give up I don't know right now to be honest |

I can't see how Howson's position now is any stronger than it was in February. It's become clear now that Nash will not go to teams not on his list (eg. Ottawa was really trying to get him but he refused to go there), at least one team (Philly) that was in the running now looks out (although I never got why they were there to start with), Nash's contract might become even worse if contract length and $ are cut down in a new CBA, etc. I have been wrong about this sort of thing before - I never thought Burke would be able to get a 1st and top prospect for Kaberle a couple years ago - but I would be shocked if Howson pulled off the deal he wants. |

Oh yes he will. He'll be taken for a ride worse than Bob Gainey was. |

If that would be the case Nash would have been gone a long time ago...He knows he screwed up the Philly trade and now he's gonna make up for it with Nash... |

He knows how to exploit a weak and desperate GM. He did it with Gainey, he did it with Darryl, he'll do it with Howson. |

Well, it won't be of his choice. Sather's gonna wait until the new CBA is agreed on, and when the cap goes down and the Rangers are literally the only team left that can take on his salary and Nash doesn't show up to training camp, Howson will be forced to trade him. Think of it as Slats hiring a bunch of big men to force Howson onto the ride. |

It really is a repeat of the Heatley scenario, although I doubt Howson will get as lucky as Murray did off of that trade. |

The Preds owner seems like a real space-cadet. |

Unless you consider Nathan MacKinnon part of the trade. |

CBA isnt gonna lower the cap. Wishful thinking bud. |

I wonder if Poile will ever snap and leave for a team that can spend to the cap every year. I feel bad for him sometimes, he seems to be a pretty good GM. |

The owners seem ready to go to war over contract lengths and max cap hits (to save them from their own stupidity of course). They'll get some concessions, it's inevitable. Like I said, I think contracts like Nash's are going to look even worse with a new CBA, because I can see a ban on 10 year deals coming. |

He lost Suter for nothing & left Weber unprotected & could now lose him for 4 late firsts b/c his team can't afford to match a contract with a "poison pill". |
