Contracts like these would constitute a healthy and lengthy lockout, IMO! - Sabresfan88
I'm pretty sure this is the last one you're gonna see...That's why Weber did it...Get the goods while the goods are there to be got... |

You are putting small market teams like Nashville in a very tough situation!

Well, it's a fair part of the game until it's not...The Sabers need to get off their asses and start handing out some sheets... |

The one guy who is going to come out of this looking good will be Howsen. He has stared everyone down. Sather is about to fold as we all knew that he would. Howsen will have his way with the Ranger player he wants. The only guy who routinely gets suckered into taking players on the downside of their careers is Sather. How many guys can you put on the list? Lindros, Gomez, Redden, Drury and on and on. Soon you will be able to add Nash. But when he gives up a future star like Krieder (which he will) people should stand up and say, enough! - spatso
Sather will not deal Kreider, all the money in the world on that. Stepan will go before kreider and if you knew anything at all, Stepan is who they want

Good day.
You must still be thanking the hockey gods. Getting rid of Richards and Carter to make room Bryz - habs12
I'm thanking them yup. For younger, cheaper Wayne Simmonds who had more points than Richards this year, for Brayden Schenn, for Voracek, and for Couturier who nobody would trade straight-up for Carts. |

I don't see what th problem. Nashville is much better losing Weber like this than as a UFA like what happened with Suter. They will get compensated this way and they also have an oppurtunity to match. |

What is the point of adding Weber to the chart? He's either a Flyer or a Predator, we'll know this week. Are people really going to try and guess whether Nashville will match based on your arbitrary percentages? |

Really, you could make the case this is partially on them that it happened this way, since the Flyers and other teams were aggressively trying to trade for him and they knew ahead of time Philly would offer sheet him if there was no trade. Unless Philly truly blindsided them with the dollar amounts, which I find hard to believe, there's not much of a case to be made for "victimization".

I'm happy for them they won the cup - its not like they're Pittsburgh or LA. Besides, we really fleeced Colombus getting Jake & Coots for Carter. Flyers had nothing to do with Carts being in LA. Good for them - we got the better players in the deal. If the Flyers traded Jody Shelley for Evgeni Malkin and the Pens won a cup would that be a bad deal for the Flyers? I'm glad Richards won a cup - he plays the right way. - MeLLo
I think people sometimes have trouble with the fact that trades often work for both teams, and can take time to even out. |

A lot of luck on that draft pick as well. No one had Couts dropping to 8th. |

its turning into the NBA - TheFondler
The difference is, when the NBA had their recent lockout, you could at least make a case for the owners. I'm 100% behind the players this time, there is literally no reason to have a lockout at this point |

Sadly for all the Bryz haters the NHL is going to include an "amnesty clause" in the CBA & seeing as we're backed by Comcast we can just amnesty Bryz in a year or two and eat that salary no-problemo without any cap penalty.

So what? Even if they had picked someone else it wouldn't have been a bad trade. Hell, they could have picked Bartschi. |

The Nash scenario is downright comical at this point. Rangers are going to get him in September for like half the price they offered in February. |
