The only pending restricted free agent defenseman for the Ottawa Senators for the 2025 offseason is left-handed shooting defenseman Tyler Kleven.
Kleven, 23, is a second round pick of the Senators in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The defender is concluding his entry-level contract, and in in his first full National season, had 10 points in 79 games. In his first postseason, he had 2 assists in 6 games in Round One against Toronto.
The Fargo, North Dakota native is one of three skaters agent Craig Oster represents on the roster, including forward Nick Cousins and captain Brady Tkachuk.
Kleven was a steady, sound, under-the-radar presence on the backend in Ottawa, and could raise him a $1M-1.25M per raise for a year or two.
