After winning 9 straight games the Seattle Kraken now are hoping to end their recent 2 game skid with a win against another streaking team in the Edmonton Oilers who have won 11 straight. They will be attempting to do so without a number of key players in their lineup.

The injury bug has hit Seattle. First they lost Burakovsky in the first period against the Blue Jackets. Burakovsky just cannot seem to stay healthy this season. Then more injuries followed as it was announced before the Penguins game that both Dunn and Beniers would be out of the lineup. Dunn has been phenomenal all season and playing at the same offensive clip he was last season. Beniers meanwhile has had the infamous sophomore slump but has shown flashes of his rookie season prowess.

Losing a top six winger, your #1 defenseman and the guy who is supposed to be your top line centre is not a great recipe for success so fans shouldn't be too down on losing 3-0 to the Penguins and 5-2 to the Rangers. This road trip doesn't get any easier as the red hot Oilers are on the ticket tonight.

Add to that Adam Larsson only playing four minutes against the Penguins due to the flu and the bug going around the Kraken room and the healthy players are going to have their work cut out for them.

This will be the third of four match ups against these Divisional rivals. Seattle has lost the first two games by scores of 4-1 and 4-3 in OT. If Seattle hopes to gain ground and be a playoff team, they need to secure some points against these teams.

If the lineup is going to get shuffled, I would like to see Yamamoto get a bump up. While he hasn't found his way onto the scoresheet as much as I'd like to see, the little guy is always around the puck and you can bet he will be motivated to make something happen against his former team.

One of Seattle's greatest successes over their winning streak was how effective they were at limiting shots and goals against. If the team can return to those ways, commit to their defensive zone structure and patiently wait out the Oilers, than Seattle could be the ones to finally end the Oilers streak.
