Hakstol Extended

The Seattle Kraken have announced that they have signed coach Dave Hakstol to an extension through to the end of the 25/26 season. What a difference a year makes. Last off-season I wrote about how Hakstol could be one of the first coaches fired in October if the team couldn't show meaningful improvements.

The Kraken would not only go on to have a 100 point season, but make the playoffs for the first time in their short two year existence. On top of that they beat the former Stanley Cup winning Avalanche in an exciting 7 games. Most pundits thought that Colorado would sweep Seattle. The Kraken then went toe to toe with the Stars for an exciting series that ended unfortunately with a loss in Game 7.

Hakstol is certainly worthy of this extension for what the team has done in these short two seasons. The complete overhaul from how they played in Year 1 to Year 2 was a sight to behold and something this staff should be able to continually implement moving forward.

Now hurry up and sign Dunn.
