Semyon Varlamov will make his third consecutive start and
Tyson Barrie will play when the Avalanche face Pittsburgh on Tuesday in the second game of their four-game road trip.

Varlamov, 6-0-1 in his past seven starts, made 24 saves Sunday in the Avalanche’s 2-0 win in Detroit. He has a 10-5-3 record with one shutout, a 2.23 goals-against average and .930 save percentage.
Barrie missed the past four games with a lower-body injury. He has 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) in 23 games.
The Avalanche (16-6-5) have gone 9-0-2 in the past 11 games and won six road games in a row.
Defenseman
Ian Cole will play his first game in Pittsburgh since the Penguins traded him to Ottawa on Feb. 23. He was traded to Columbus on Feb. 26 and signed with the Avalanche as a free agent on July 1.
Cole played against the Penguins a week ago at the Pepsi Center.
"Pittsburgh will always have a huge place and a very special place in my life and in my heart,” Cole told the
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “People here are fantastic, fans are fantastic. All the guys in (the Penguins’) room are really, really special people. Really happy to come back and see them.”
Cole spent parts of four seasons with the Penguins and was a member of two Stanley Cup champion teams. He has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 27 games this season and leads the NHL with 79 blocked shots.
