The Avalanche can move ahead of Dallas into second place in the Central Division with a point Thursday if they can beat Ottawa in the third game of their five-game road trip.

GAME NOTES

The Avalanche trail the second-place Stars by one point and have played two fewer games. They already have more regulation wins (26-21) and more regulation/overtime wins (29-28), the first two tiebreakers.

Colorado has gone 1-1-0 in the first two games of the trip and is 4-1-2 in the past seven games.

No official word on the starting goalie, so guessing Pavel Francouz starts for the first time since Jan. 20 when he made 22 saves in a 6-3 win against Detroit.

The lineup:

FORWARDS
Gabriel Landeskog -- Nathan MacKinnon -- Mikko Rantanen
Valeri Nichushkin -- Nazem Kadri -- Andre Burakovsky
Matt Calvert -- Pierre-Edouard Bellemare -- J.T. Compher
Matt Nieto -- Tyson Jost -- Joonas Donskoi

DEFENSE
Ryan Graves -- Cale Makar
Samuel Girard -- Erik Johnson
Nikita Zadorov -- Ian Cole

GOALIES
Pavel Francouz
Philipp Grubauer
