The Arizona Coyotes have signed unrestricted free agent Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year deal. The contract is worth $750,000.

Per Darren Dreger.

Alex Galchenyuk signs 1 year, $750,000 contract with Arizona Coyotes.

This deal ensures that Galchenyuk will play for the 6th team in his nine-year career. He split the 2020-21 season between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs. The NHL journeyman posted 13 points in 34 games this past season.

A former 3rd overall pick of the Montreal Canadiens, Galchenyuk hasn't found much success since his 30-goal 2015-16 campaign. The 27-year-old will try again to be a productive NHL player, this time in the desert.

Known for his booming shot, Galchenyuk's second stint in Arizona will be one with ample opportunities. With a very weak roster, he could very well end up playing top minutes alongside stars such as Phil Kessel, Clayton Keller, and Nick Schmaltz.
