After a disappointing 3-1 loss in Calgary, the Cats will look to recover with a win against the 15-15-1 St Louis Blues.
There were a couple things to be frustrated about with the loss to the Flames:
1. Jacob Marksteom, who missed the last seven games, returned and pushed aside 33 shots for the win. I was hoping the Panthers would expose some rust with Markstrom, but that was not the case…
2. Going 1/5 on the PP. What more can you say? Awful.
3. Calgary has a knack for the shorty. Giving up two short-handed goals? C’mon…this was by far the biggest disappointment of the game.
Tonight could be more of the same regarding the shorty. STL is tied (ironically) with CGY with most shorties so far this season at eight.
Panthers must be careful to not leave themselves in vulnerable positions like they did multiple times in Calgary.
This was a certainly a road trip Florida should put behind them. Going 1/5 and ripe with poor hockey being played all around. Kind of figured it was doomed when they were blanked two nights in a row.
I think Barky summed up their road trip pretty well. They had some good spots, and the rest was pretty bad as they struggled to put together full 60-minute efforts each night.
Back on home ice, it looks like we’ll see the same lineup tonight as we did in Calgary - save for Bob in net:
I hope so bad that Binnington is in net and the Cats light the lamp often!
