If anyone is interested, I wanted to post this for anyone in the Ottawa area this weekend. In addition to the CBC documentary on the Summit Series, there is another special titled, Ice Breaker. The 1972 Summit Series. A screening is taking place at the Bytowne Cinema this Saturday, 4pm. Tickets are available online and Liam Maguire will be there, with a Q & A afterward with Liam! Yesterday, the Ottawa Senators announced the 26 players that will compete in this weekend's showcase down in Buffalo starting this Friday. The roster is headlined by the likes of Shane Pinto, Mads Sogaard, Jake Sanderson, Ridly Greig, and Tyler Boucher.

The rookie camp and tournament take place from Wednesday, Sept. 15 until Monday, Sept. 19. The camp's on-ice sessions at Bell Sensplex will be open to the public.

2022 Prospects Challenge, all Sens games will take place at Buffalo's LECOM Harborcenter. Below is the dates/opponent/start time for each game.

Friday, Sept. 16: Boston vs. Ottawa, 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 18: Ottawa vs. Montreal, 12 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 19: Buffalo vs. Ottawa, 1:30 p.m.

Ottawa Senators 2022 Rookie Challenge Roster -

Goaltenders: Kevin Mandolese, Jakob Robillard, Mads Søgaard

Defencemen: Xavier Bernard, Jorian Donovan, Maxence Guenette, Tomas Hamara, Zachary Massicotte, Ben Roger, Chandler Romeo, Jake Sanderson.

Forwards: Tyler Boucher, Angus Crookshank, Philippe Daoust, Ridly Greig, Roby Jarventie, Carson Latimer, Zakary Lavoie, Viktor Lodin, Kyle McDonald, Jacob Newcombe, Zack Ostapchuk, Shane Pinto, Milo Roelens, Reid Valade, Dalyn Wakely.

I'm curious to hear Sens fans' thoughts about who they think might surprise at the rookie challenge?! Or who do you expect to be the Sens' most outstanding player at the rookie challenge?

I would like to see Sogaard dominate in goal in taking that next step to becoming a regular NHLer in the next year or two. With Pinto and Sanderson not having played much over the last two seasons, getting these games against their peers will set them up nicely before main camp. Will Greig will be fully healthy to compete at the level we have expected from him after a great World Junior tournament? Can Crookshank return to form and get back to playing the way he was prior to his injury at last year's rookie game against Montreal? Will Boucher, Jarventie, or Ostapbchuk take that next step in their development? These are just a few questions that I'm sure many Sens hope to have answers to over the course of these three games. Hope we will start to see which player's can turn some heads at the main camp, starting next week.

I hope to hear from many of you in the comment section of the blog.
Thanks for reading.
