The Rangers take on the Panthers tonight at MSG. Ryan Strome, acquired yesterday, will be in the lineup tonight. The big news is that Brady Skjei is a healthy scratch, a move which isn't overly surprising.

Lines :

Mats Zuccarello, who played Thursday after missing three games, is out of the lineup tomorrow. That maintenance day yesterday clearly was more than just that, as he is dealing with a recurrence of the groin injury that sidelined him originally. Jesper Fast moves up to the second line while Strome is active and on the third line. I will have more on my view on the Strome acquisition tomorrow. Apologies, with the Sabbath yesterday coming shortly after the deal and having to run an errand as the deal broke, was unable to get a blog up on it. Skjei is replaced by Brendan Smith.

David Quinn Pre-Game:

David Quinn on why Skjei is a healthy scratch :

Skjei was not good Thursday, as were several others. Quinn could have chosen from Skjei, Marc Staal, Tony DeAngelo, Neal Pionk and maybe even Kevin Shattenkirk. I have no issue with sitting Skjei, whose play has regressed again this season after a brilliant rookie campaign. The upside and talent exists, just neither have been on display consistently, resulting in at least one game in the press box.
