Elliotte Freedman has confirmed what I have previously mentioned, that Seth Jones will be testing free agency after this coming season....
If you remember back at the deadline, I had said the Flyers backed off of Ekholm and Ellis talks with the idea that Seth Jones would be their target this summer....I also reported that the word was Jones truly wanted to play back home, which in his case means playing for the Colorado Avalanche.
It is very hard to fathom a defense that could boast Makar and Jones....especially since both players would be able to demand over $10M a year....even in the flat cap era.
The Kings, Leafs and Flames were also poking around a bit regarding Seth Jones at the last deadline, but let's just say that EVERY team is at least moderately interested in the young star...
The Jackets need to maximize this return in a huge way, so you can be sure the price will be crazy high and Columbus will allow the teams trading for Jones to try and work out an extension before giving up the farm.... One Flyers source put the range somewhere around, Farabee, Frost, Sanheim, and a first-round pick...
Is Jones worth that sort of ransome?
