The latest from two sources...

1. Player Contract term--
NHL wants 6 year limit or 7 for your own team.
NHLPA wants 8 for all contracts

2. Variance
The NHL has actually increased this to 30%

3. Pension--
The League looking for protection from long term unknown liabilities. This is important.

4. CBA term--
NHL at 10 years with an option at 8
NHLPA at 10 years with an option at 7

as for the other facts being reported...they are as being reported..

5. Two player compliance
Team will be able to buy out two players prior to next season...NHL wants that money to be in the HRR system and the NHLPA wants that money outside the system (a way of increasing the make whole in actuality)

6. The Second year cap remains a huge issue. The NHL wants it to fall from 70 to 60, the PA to 65...(Not sure why the NHL wouldn't be ok with 65 as long as the split is 50/50. It does mean the players would have to pay more escrow, but the GMs would have more flexibility as well...)

more to come...
