Could a Bridge Deal for Johnny Hockey Mean a Return to the East?

Talking to people around the NHL I don't doubt for a second that Johnny Gaudreau will be signed by the Flames and start the season in Calgary without any holdouts or missed games...The question that hangs in the balance however is will he be signed long term to somewhere in the neighborhood of 7.5M per for 8 years or a shorter bridge deal that leaves the Flames more secure against his play falling off but susceptible to Gaudreau leaving and returning to play on the East Coast as a UFA?

A short bridge deal could leave him as a possible offer sheet prospect in a a few years before he is a UFA...

What say you?

Coming up...My preview of Bracket A....

There will be no show today with everyone traveling to various destinations, but stay tuned for a show from Toronto on the weekend.
