First a minor trade..The Panthers have traded a 4th and Josh Brown to Ottawa for a 4th.

Trying to make sense of the goalie market should be someone's PhD project, so whenever I get any sort of clue to the entire puzzle I think it deserves its own space...

The clue today is the Calgary Flames...

The Flames may indeed be the linchpin in this puzzle...and here is why...

#1. The Flames want Markstrom. It is rare that you can make yourself better AND your rival worse with one move. So they are going to, at the very least, drive up the price for Vancouver...

#2. The Flames also love Matt Murray. The Leafs are interested in Matt Murray too AND the Leafs would consider trading for Demko IF the Canucks do indeed sign Markstrom...

#3. The Flames third option I am told is Holtby...Colorado and San Jose are very high on Holtby.

#4 The Flames like Lundqvist too, however, I believe Lundqvist signs sooner than October 9th...I keep hearing the Devils and Sharks are both pushing hard. NJ still the favorite for convenience...The Leafs are also starting to show some interest as well.
