Wild Need A Win to Salvage The Trip

The Wild put the wraps in their 3-game East Coast road trip in New Jersey to faceoff against the Devils.

Jared Spurgeon will miss the game tonight and the weekend games against the Jets and Sunday's rematch with the Lightning. The Wild captain is considered week to week and will be reevaluated once the team returns home.

Jordie Benn dressed on Sunday and is likely to once again be in the lineup tonight. Benn had a nice assist on Sunday on Brandon Duhaime's goal but had only played one game prior to that one and really did not have a good training camp.

New Jersey is a young exciting squad for sure, but they do have a glaring flaw and that is their penalty kill is not good with a kill rate of 76.8% which ranks 27th in the NHL. The Wild powerplay has been better of late and combine that with how well they have done with the extra attacker with the goaltender pulled this could be a turning point in tonight's game.

Cam Talbot will be back between the pipes as the Wild look to even the record on this trip and head hone for Thanksgiving and then a couple tough home tilts.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
