Matt Boldy has officially signed his 3 year entry level contract and will begin his professional career in Iowa. If and when he gets the call to the big club remains to be seen as it is cap dependent.

He would be able to join the team for the playoffs though, but I am sure the Wild would like to see him in regular season games prior to that. That makes the next couple of weeks a bit more interesting as Guerin may make a move or two to free up some cap space in the process.

Tonight it is the Sharks once again before heading to Vegas for a big game against the Golden Knights. Kaapo Kahkonen should get the start tonight and Cam gets tomorrow's game in Vegas, but we will have to wait for that official word. Evason may draw on the fact that Kahkonen beat the Golden Knights in back to back starts March 8th and 10th.

Marcus Johansson is beginning to look more like the player Guerin and the Wild brass had hoped for when they traded Eric Staal for the veteran forward. Johansson is playing for a new contract so here is hopeling that he continues to improve and the Wild benefit from his inspired play.

Kevin Fiala is also heating up as well. The Wild need production from all four lines despite having a bit more star power than they have had it still is a team effort without a true number one or number two center to depend on.

Fiala has been a notoriously better producer in the second half of seasons and we are all hopeful that is the case once again here in 2021.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!

UPDATE: USA Hockey announced today that Wild GM, Bill Guerin, has been named assistant GM for Team USA for the 2022 Olympics. Guerin will be the assistant to Stan Bowman, Blackhawks President and General Manager. A well deserved honor for the Wild's second year GM.
