A Matter of When, Not If

Zucker, Dumba, and Niederreiter all in play as Eklund has confirmed from sources.

That is not really news per se, but it confirms one side of the equation at least.

The return is expected to be quality Center and Right Wing help.

We have kicked around Kessel's name quite a bit. That would of course require some creative work around the cap and of course depends on the price.

Kessel is a serious upgrade in the goal scoring department and gives the Wild a legitimate threat on the wing.

In order to change the culture within the Wild they will need to make moves to get away from this balanced line approach that has not worked beyond the regular season.

Ryan O'Reilly's name has come up as well, but given the Wild's history of dealing with Buffalo, isn't there a better trade partner for the new GM?

If Dumba is dealt there must be a defenseman coming back or that makes absolutely no sense. Dumba is on many team's wish lists for obvious reasons. In my eyes there is no reason to entertain offers for Dumba unless the return is overwhelming.

Lastly with the trades of Mike Hoffman yesterday. Is it bad to question if Fenton contacted the Senators to inquire what it might take since their return was so low.

With the Wild need for goal scoring, Mike Hoffman fits that bill to a tee. Throw in that he plays the point on the power play and he becomes very attractive for what the Wild need.

Now of course the baggage is an issue, but would he bring that with him here, with the veterans that are in the Wild room?
