1) IIHF Worlds: Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson backed up Minnesota Wild netminder Filip Gustavsson in Team Sweden's game against Latvia at the 2024 IIHF World Championships in Czechia on Saturday. Elvis Merzlikins was in goal for Latvia. Tre Konor skated to a 7-2 win. The Swedes improved to 5-0-0 in preliminary round play (Group B).

Ersson has started two of the five games Sweden has played to date. He's posted a 2-0-0 record, 1.00 GAA, and .926 save percentage.

Team USA improved to 3-1-1 in Group B play on Friday with a 4-1 win over Poland. Brady Tkachuk led the way with a four-point game (1g, 3a), while Cole Caufield tallied two goals and earned Player of the Game honors.

Flyers left winger Joel Farabee skated 20 shifts (17:36 TOI) in Friday's game, primarily on a line with former Flyers center Kevin Hayes and Anaheim's Trevor Zegras. Farabee did not record a point in this game. He has one point (0g, 1a) through five games, playing mostly on the third line for the Americans at 5-on-5.

All Group B games are being played in Ostrava, while Group A is playing in Prague. The medal round games are also in Prague.

The Flyers take a two games to zero lead over the Montreal Canadiens as Michael Leighton (30 saves) records his second straight shutout. The Flyers capture a 3-0 home victory in Game 2, scoring one goal each period. Danny Briere (PPG, 9th of the playoffs), Simon Gagne (PPG, 6th) and Ville Leino (3rd) tally for the Flyers. Leino has a two-point game, with an assist on Gagne's goal preceding his own marker midway through the third period.

4) Flyers Daily: On the current edition of the Flyers Daily podcast, Jason Myrtetus's series of after-season interviews continues with a discussion with alternate captain Scott Laughton. Laughts describes the sudden ending of a season, how to use narowly missing out on the playoffs as an offseason motivation too and much more. Jason also talks about the Flyers having very minimal playoff success over the last decade -- one playoff series win since 2014 --and how that needs to change.
