Preview: Flyers @ New York Islanders

The Flyers are in Elmont, NY, on Wednesday evening to take on the New York Islanders at UBS Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT. The game will be streamed on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. The radio broadcast is on 97.5 The Fanatic with an online simulcast on Flyers Radio 24/7.

Philadelphia opened the exhibition slate with a 6-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center in Newark on Monday. The Islanders lost, 4-2, to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

Injury Updates and Notes

* Cam Atkinson (lower-body injury) remained off the ice on Wednesday.

* Cam York (undisclosed) was also a non-participant in Wedneday's non-game group practice sessions.

* Travis Konency (undisclosed) returned to the ice and practiced with one of the non-game groups. He was out on Sunday and Monday. He's ready to play as soon as the next exhibition game against Boston.

* The Flyers made five roster cuts on Monday: 2023 draft picks Oliver Bonk (OHL, London Knights), Denver Barkey (OHL, London Knights) and Carter Sotheran (WHL, Portland Winterhawks) were returned to their respective junior teams for the 2023-24 season. Camp invitees Jonathan Fauchon (QMJHL, Blainville-Boisbriand Armada) and Sam Sedley (OHL, Owen Sound Attack) were released from their camp tryouts.

* On Tuesday, the Flyers signed goalie Carson Bjarnason, their 2023 second-round Draft pick, to an entry-level contract. He will soon be assigned back to his junior team, the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.
