The Carolina Hurricanes announced yesterday that they’ve signed forward Blake Murray to a three-year entry-level contract.

Murray is a 19-year-old forward who was selected by the Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He spent three years with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves but with the OHL season cancelled, Murray played in Sweden this season. There’s a good chance we’ll see him in the AHL to start the 2021-22 season.

The signing comes after the Hurricanes also inked prospects Cavan Fitzgerald and Tuukka Tieksola to contracts earlier in the month. Fitzgerald is a 24-year-old undrafted defender who spent the year with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, while Tieksola is a forward who was selected by the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
