Yesterday in Boston MA, The NHL Media was invited to attend a private screening of the full length documentary “Willie.” The film, produced by Bryant McBride and directed and shot by Laurence Mathieu-Leger, is a riveting account of Willie O’Ree’s remarkable and inspiring life journey. All in attendance on this rainy Tuesday were blown away by the craft of this film. It’s an invitation to walk in Willie’s shoes; to hear his story not only from him but to sit next to those who knew him since childhood and beyond. Not your typical interview documentary, Mathieu-Leger took great care to ‘invite’ the audience in to the film with brilliant cinematography.

Please visit the film's site here to see the trailer and read more about the spirit of the work; it’s message, meaning and goals to reach millions of people, young and old, so that they too can be inspired. And when it is released do take the time to view it. It truly is a must see.
