Just a quick hit here...

The Habs and Sharks have been discussing a deal for about a month now that would send some much needed scoring to Montreal. I always check in on the status of these sorts of discussions and many times they fizzle or at the least they fade into contingency plans for the future...

Not this one.

And along those lines there is a general feeling out there that teams will NOT be sitting around in October and waiting for US Thanksgiving to make moves...

"There is really such a small margin for error that slow starts must be nipped in the bud," a source told me today.

So usually this is the slowest season for rumors...not the case this time.
