The Arizona Coyotes named Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the position of Captain, yesterday.
The news comes as no shock to anyone, and few things in life were as obvious as this happening.
OEL takes over from Shane Doan, who retired before last season and who had held the position dating back to the Civil War.
There really isn't too much to say about this - it happened, it was expected, it's the best move and ultimately, who cares about who the captain is anyways?

The Drive By Truckers are one of those bands that, in retrospect, it's hard to believe they weren't bigger. Three great song writers, and at least six albums worth of great tunes.
You could do worse than naming them captain of your CD player.
If you still use CD, of course. Personally, I'm such a hipster I only listen to music on a gramophone.
I'm still searching for a gramophone copy of OEL's rap album which was released domestically only in Sweden. Apparently.
