No Geno in the desert

Pittsburgh wraps up their two game road trip tonight when they face the Arizona Coyotes. Much like the Colorado Avalanche the desert dogs are having a very forgettable season. Pittsburgh has been fortunate to get these two games in succession with the injury issues that they have had up front at the forward position even if a pretty big piece may be returning tonight.

Evgeni Malkin has been skating on a regular basis and took part in a full practice yesterday. He was skating on a line with Scott Wilson and Patric Hornqvist per Josh Yohe of DK on Pittsburgh Sports.

Ultimately that will mean nothing tonight

I had thought that Malkin would play this evening given the fact he made the trip, but it wasn't to be. He should be ready for Tuesday's game against Vancouver. One bonus of missing tonight's game is that he won't have the chance to be victim of a cheap shot from Shane Doan.

Josh Archibald was called up from WB/S to give the Penguins 12 forwards.

It will be interesting to see how the lines shake out tonight.

Sidney Crosby will get another look at registering his 1,000th point tonight and his father Troy will be in attendance just like all the other Penguins dads.

Tonight will also conclude the Dad trip. The Penguins fathers have been with the team on the road trip

The water bottle assassin will be in net tonight against Arizona.
