Ovechkin, Holtby tagged to play in All-star game

Ovechkin and Holtby are going to Hollywood.

The two stars have been selected to represent the Washington Capitals in this years NHL All-Star game in Los Angeles.

This will be Ovechkin's 8th appearance, a franchise record, and Holtby's second. Ovechkin has 5 goals and 6 assists in All-Star games.

Ovechkin is one point shy of notching the 1,000th of his career. He recently tied Maurice 'The Rocket' Richard on the all-time goals list with 544.

Holtby joins Olaf Kolzig as the only Capitals goaltender to receive two All-Star selections. Holtby is tied for the league lead in shutouts with 5.
