I'm low on time unless I want to have a rake fight with my boss, but I just want to quickly celebrate the return of the NHL.

As a pretty boring mid-thirties family man, I have to say I miss the diversion of hockey way too much when its off for a few days. I am pretty sure this is in part to my vicious addiction to fantasy hockey.

The funny thing is, my league pays only like $150 to first, and costs just $20, so it's not like it even really matters who wins - except that I want to put my name on the trophy again. Because I am not original at all and I watched the League, I felt our league, now in its 5th year, needed a trophy.

Enter the Karate Man.

I very much want to win it and to do so, I recently traded Kuznetzov (hoping to sell high) and Barkov (too many C ) to team Ja Rule for Bobby Ryan and Viktor Hedman.

It's risky but it lets me turn Tyler Myers into a drop, Bobby Ryan is eligible on both wings and I have three other straight Cs with McDavid back.

Yes, that's right. McDavid is back and I am sitting only 5 and a half wins out.

And I have three top ten picks (Hall, McDavid,MacKinnon) in a 14 team league.

These turkeys are going down.

Besides slaying turkeys, the other thing I'll be doing is watching the Coyotes game and hoping their Playoff magic didn't disappear over the Allstar break.

The Coyotes will be taking on the Kings.

Tippett, who is coaching his 1000th game tonight, will be (according to Sarah McLellan) deploying the line of Hanzel, Domi and Duclair tonight.

This is good, it remains a mystery why it hasn't been a permanent line.

Even better? McLellan also tells us that the Coyotes will be skating without Grossman or Dahlbeck.

In other words, they'll be dressing pretty much their optimal lineup. Although, no lineup is really optimal when it includes Antoine Vermette in the top six, but this is still a good sign that Tippitt is listening to the teams analytics department.

Should be a good game.

Don't forget to read Jason's game preview here- which is much more thorough than this one.

Thanks for reading.
