Just a short and sweet blog for today about Penguins jerseys.

Icethetics put out their new jersey (new jersey, not New Jersey) watch for August and the section about the Penguins had a nice nugget of information that I had forgotten about.

Rob Rossi reported the following in June

The Penguins expect to introduce an alternate jersey to be worn for select games next season. One confirmable detail about the third jersey is the return of Pittsburgh Gold to the team's uniforms for the first time since 2001-02 season.

Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said he has ordered yellow leg pads and gloves to be worn when the Penguins' don the alternate jerseys.

Count me in. I think the time is right to re-introduce the look that the Penguins are probably most famous for, the Lemieux era gold. I wouldn't even use a re-design, just bring back the exact same uniforms that the Penguins wore during their back to back Stanley Cup championships.

On a side note I also think that the white jerseys that the Penguins wore in the Stadium Series game against Chicago last year should be their new white jersey. I think they are sharp and the Penguins regular threads could use a makeover.

OK two polls today

Additionally, The Hockey News ranked the NHL's best logos, the Penguins came in 8th place , the Flyers were 10th .
