In yesterday's Shea Weber offer sheet post mortem press conference, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said it was only a matter of time until the club got a deal done with Jakub Voracek.

It turns out that it was just a matter of hours.

Late last night, the Czech media got wind of a 4 year, $17 million agreement between the Flyers and Voracek. This morning, local hockey writer David Strehle received confirmation via agent Petr Svoboda that the deal, in fact, was done.

Voracek had one hell of a stretch drive last year for Philly, and a strong playoff run as well. During the playoffs, Patrik Elias called Voracek the Flyers' best forward after Claude Giroux; and it wasn't just a case of one Czech pumping up another. Voracek was magnificent in the playoffs at both ends of the ice.

More to come....
