*Updates will appear at the bottom of the blog...

Here Is what I have for you from my conversations today...

* The Leafs are talking to everyone and anyone right now and have their eyes on soem bigger names than people probably thought...at least than I expected. The Leafs are are interested in Bobby Ryan, Jokinen, Halpern, Jordon Staal, Eric Cole, and JS Giguere.

* The Canadiens are also interested in Jokinen and Cole, but the main focus continues to be defense...with Jay Bo, Kaberle, Morris, and Leopold...in that order,

* The Rangers game against the Sabres this evening is being called "a benchmark" game by people close to the inside. as one source said, "All hell could break loose were the Rangers to not compete this evening."

* Speaking of the Sabres, they are very high on Jokinen and Morris, but also like Leopold. However, the Sabres main target is Ryan Smyth and "another young star on the Avalanche."

* The Penguins got themselves a big victory and are starting to look much better with Gonchar in the line-up. However, do not be fooled...a winger for Crosby is coming and could be in the form of Cole or Tkachuk

* The Calgary Flames are very interested in Smyth, but also really like Nathan Horton and Colby Armstrong.

* The Canucks like Lupul (as do the Ducks) but the Canucks main target may Vermette who could be heading to Vancouver for a D-man.

* The Predators are talking turkey with the Capitals regarding in a deal that could find Koistinen heading to Washington

* The Flyers also like Koistinen, but are still considering Pronger should they fail to get Bouwmeester.

* The Devils first choice is definitely trying to grab BOTH Neidermayers, they like Morris, but also like Leopold and Horton. They also would love to grab Souray out of Edmonton for a major league prospect and a roster player.

UPDATE 9:18: A source has just informed me that the Senators are not done, have another move coming, a bigger move. and possibly soon...
