What a way for the first round to conclude last night. Incredible finish, that's what playoff hockey is all about. Unless you're a Blues fan, you probably enjoyed that game last night. And the Presidents' Trophy winner avoids an early exit. It's getting to the point that teams are going to treat the Presidents' Trophy, like the par 3 contest at the Masters. Don't want to win it.
Onto round two. Let's get rocked tonight. Leafs and Panthers.
Fifth time in the past thirty years that three Canadian based teams are moving onto the second round. Speaking of Canadian, Crosby and MacKinnon are joining Canada at the World Championships, which begin on May 9th.
Still hard to believe that Marner had only 8 shots on net in the entire Ottawa series. Although he scored once, he still averaged over a point per game in the series (1G, 7A). If things go south offensively for the Leafs again, I have to believe you bring Robertson back to the line up.Good to see Laughton getting the game puck after game 6, I mean, what a blocked shot leading to Nylanders empty netter.
Leafs haven't won game 1 of a second round series since 2001 (New Jersey). So is this team about to make history?
