It’s kind of flown under the hockey radar, but Tampa coach John Cooper is technically a free agent. In my opinion, he one of the top two or three coaches in the world, but he obviously loves Tampa and he still has had had success with Tampa.
But there are a few teams out there who would pay the kind of money for him that Tampa might not pay. Larry Brooks mentioned this today as well in a tweet saying he has been told not to be surprised if Coper were to leave Tampa.
This would be another level for the Flyers. This would be an Ed Snyder move. If Ed Snyder were alive, he would basically say what we give him $10 million a year for 10 years? Remember, coaches have nothing to do with the salary cap.
What would you pay John Cooper to became coach of the Philadelphia Flyers?
