Summary:
On the plus side, Debrincat breaks a scoring drought, Kane’s late tally took Detroit into overtime to garner one point, Perron gets the power play going. The minus is, of course, the loss. After an exciting second the opening of the third period was brutal. Washington has had excellent goaltending and the Wilson suspension hasn’t done much to impact the team.
2 points out, and 10 games left. It’s a brutal schedule and the team can’t look past any game. More than a few will look at coaching decisions, and the battle of the “quit now and try for a better draft” will go against the “it’s not over til it’s over” for the final stretch.
It wears thin to have to look at compiling losses and find a way to differentiate. In the end it comes down to wins and losses. The team still being close at this point is a step forward, but one filled with stress for the fans. It’s up to the team to find a way. There isn’t much else to say. Please chime in and give your thoughts. 1 point is certainly better than none, but still another contest that showed an inability to get the job done.

Detroit Red Wings Second Period goals:
Debrincat picked a good time to get back on the board after a 12 game drought. Standing in front of the net, Petry skated the puck down the half wall and found the cat ready to shoot. 1-1
Perron gave Detroit a 1 goal lead on the power play with around 43 seconds left in the period. This came on the heels of an important kill by the Red Wings. Perron just stuck with it and elevated the puck over the goalie after a couple big saves that saw the netminder facedown on the ice. Compher and Larkin with the assists.

After losing the lead with 2 quick Washington tallies, at 14:40 Patrick Kane breathed life back into the game. “Showtime” just ripped a slapshot after a pass from Debrincat found him between the faceoff dots. 3-3
Shots: 33-28
Score: 3-3
