Cap Friendly now saying that the deal is pending

Follow me on Twitter

It may be some internet kidding, but Scouting the Refs is saying Sprong will give up #88 for a small package of $13.80…

I was wrong, again. I did not think we’d see Patrick Kane in the Winged Wheel. I typed a couple of days ago that Fla had announced that the money wasn’t there to bring in one of the greatest American Wingers in history. Apparently (according to the article above, Patrick was very fond of Detroit and impressed with the staff and interviews). And tomorrow the Wings take on NYR. Wow. I have to think that if Detroit isn’t headed for the post season by trade deadline, there’s at least talk of dealing the former Blackhawk staple.

For what it’s worth, there is still a little chatter that the deal hasn’t been completed and that a couple of other teams are working on a last minute bid. However, the majority of the chatter is that this is a done deal.

* Sportsnet saying 2.75M, big thanks to czahaluk for that update.

Cap Friendly hasn’t updated the signing yet. Oddly, Detroit just called up Berggren as well.

More details to come!

The future Hall of Fame player said he knows he has to “Earn his spot”. I’m not sure what the Berggren recall is all about unless Larkin is going to heal up a little or if a trade is now in the works. Either way, this is exciting! Hoping Larkin is ready to go as seeing Larkin/Kane/Debrincat would be one heck of a line!
