Penguins add another forward on a PTO, still not that one

The Penguins have added another forward via PTO. Sticking with the overall theme with the bottom six it is another player with a defensive profile and lacks offensive production.

PTO contracts a great way to increase competition at camp and get the most out of players. It’s a free pass to get a look at someone. The defensive forward with low offense remains a player profile I’m not high on. It does appear to be the profile of player Kyle Dubas is enamored with as far as filling out depth forward positions.

Colin White is 26 years old and had a 41 point season back in 2018-19. I wouldn’t bank on a repeat as he had 15 points in 68 games last year with the Panthers.

No harm in bringing in some extra bodies. If Colin White earns a contract it just means another player wasn’t up to it and should be a situation where the Penguins can remove the player who was beaten out from the ledger.
