Wild Look To Extend Lightning Dominance in Tampa

The Wild wrap the road trip up tonight in Tampa looking to end their two game skid. This series has favored the Wild by a significant margin of late. 7-0-1 in favor of Minnesota over the last eight meetings between these two including the Wild's 5-1 victory over the Lightning three weeks ago.

That last Wild victory over the Lightning was not as one sided as the score would indicate. The game turned on two quick Wild goals midway through the second period. Filip Gustavsson was very good in the Wild goal prior to exiting late in the tilt due to illness.

Tampa outplayed the Wild for some significant portions of the game, but could not solve Gustavsson to close the gap. Tonight is going to be a very different Tampa game for the Wild and they need to be ready from the outset.

Matt Dumba and Marcus Foligno will be back in the Wild lineup tonight. Foligno, back from illness while Dumba returns after being a healthy scratch for the last two games.

We will see how this plays out for Dumba, if the benching proves to be effective for his game or does it just further distance the player who is most likely not going to be with the Wild through the remainder of the season?

Marc-Andre Fleury gets the net tonight despite the fact that Gustavsson stole the show in the last meeting with Tampa.

For Tampa they know full well how the Wild have had their number, and you can bank on Jon Cooper to have his team primed and ready to turn the tables on the Wild.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
