Game 20 Preview: Flyers @ Capitals

John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (7-8-4) are in DC on Wednesday evening to take on Peter Laviolette's Washington Capitals (7-10-3) at Capital One Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be nationally televised on TNT.

Both teams have been struggling this month, posting identical 2-6-2 records. The Flyers are winless in their last seven games, however, going 0-5-2 in that span. Philadelpha lost at home to Calgary, 5-2, on Monday evening. Washington is coming off a 4-0 shutout loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Additionally, the Flyers and Capitals are both riddled with key injuries. The Capitals figure to get TJ Oshie and potentially Dmitry Orlov back in the lineup for this game but are still, among others, without Tom Wilson and Nicklas Bäckström for a lengthy period of time to come. Philly remains without Travis Konecny, Sean Couturier, Cam Atkinson, Scott Laughton, James van Riemsdyk and Wade Allison.

Both teams are embarking on gauntlets of three games in four nights. Washington is a bit more rested right now, having been idle on the game schedule the last three nights.
