Game 18 Preview: Flyers @ Canadiens

John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (7-7-3) are in Quebec on Saturday to take on Martin St. Louis' Montreal Canadiens (8-8-1). Game time at the Bell Centre is 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Flyers enter this game mired in a five-game winless streak (0-4-1). On Thursday, the Flyers lost a 4-1 decision to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. The Canadiens compiled a three-game winning streak last week but since have lost back-to-back games in regulation at home against the New Jersey Devils (5-1) and on the road to the Columbus Blue Jackets (6-4).

As of this writing, there is not yet an official update on the status of Travis Konecny, who left Thursday's game in the second period with an apparent injury to his right hand. There is a request in for Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher provide an update. Additionally, there is no word as to lineup adjustments thus far.

Below is a placeholder lineup, based on a scenario in which Joel Farabee moves up to the top line. It will be updated later today:

Phantoms Update

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (6-5-1) have won four games in a row. On Friday night, the Phantoms earned their most impressive win of the season to date, earning a 4-2 win over the first-place Providence Bruins (10-2-2).

The Phantoms were especially good in the third period, outshooting the Bruins by a 12-5 margin and turning a 2-2 deadlock into a two-goal victory. Lehigh Valley trailed 1-0 after the first period.

Tyson Foerster (PPG, 3rd goal of the season) knotted the score at 5:01 of the second period. Isaac Ratcliffe tallied his first and second goals of the season to give the Phantoms a 3-2 lead by early in the third period. With 4:04 left in the third period, rookie Elliot Desnoyers (5th) added an insurance goal.

Samuel Ersson, making his fifth straight start for the Phantoms, turned back 25 of 27 shots. The Phantoms went 1-for-4 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill. Keith Kindaid denied 31 of 35 Phantoms shots in a losing cause.

The same two teams will rematch in Providence on Saturday evening at 7:05 p.m. ET. The Phantoms will be in Springfield on Sunday.
