After the three most recent signings of Daniil Tarasov, Liam Foudy, and Jack Roslovic on the restricted free agent list for the management staff, who remains with the need of a new contract for the 2022-2023 regular season?
Patrik Laine — the third leading point scorer and second leading goal scorer of the club last season, the sizable forward lingers as the most pure skill guy on the books.
Emil Bemstrom — offseason surgery and half a season doesn’t give much for a perspective on a new deal for the small skill forward.
Kevin Stenlund — the kids and oversea veterans pushed him into the minors last season, while being paid over $1M. Not going to be an easy negotiating process.
Josh Dunne — undrafted sizable forward could get a Liam Foudy type extension.
Trey Fix-Woknsky — small skilled forward with upside. Was a steal in the draft then, could get better. Still seeing a two way deal for this also.
Carson Meyer — more size and liked by Larsen, maybe a bit richer this time.
Adam Boqvist — top defenseman remaining on the board in Columbus on priorities. I expect either bridge to prove it for the budget or throw a Klingberg like deal for the term and money.
Gabriel Carlsson — led in plus/minus at +6 when playing. Size is his advantage.
Nick Blankenburg — the late Michigan add helped Johnson with familiarity, and think it’ll continue for another couple years.
