Sometimes you can get in a world of trouble by trying to get too cute or game the system...

Carey Price has agreed to waive his NMC to be exposed to Seattle so that the Canadiens can instead protect Allen....THIS IS INSANE.

Ok...so sure, maybe Seattle wants nothing to do with Price's long contract at that number...BUT what is stopping Seattle from taking Price, part of his money and moving him to Toronto or Boston or Edmonton or Vancouver???

Ok...maybe they have worked something out with Francis? But I don't know why Francis would help them out here...

Would there be a better short term ambassador for a new franchise? Isn't this essentially MAF version 2.0?

I guess the other thing to consider is Price, for whatever reason, wants to move on and this is his way of doing it quietly???

All I know is right now the entire hockey world is confused and frankly stunned by this.

This is insane and if Price is no longer a Canadien two weeks from now EVERYONE must be fired.
